Obverse description The obverse features the Hungarian royal coat of arms centered in the field, depicting the traditional quartered shield with the Árpád stripes on the dexter side and the apostolic double cross on a triple mount on the sinister side, surmounted by the Holy Crown of Saint Stephen with its characteristic bent cross. The shield is rendered in fine detail with carefully engraved heraldic elements. The circular legend MAGYAR KIRÁLYI VÁLTÓ PENZ (Hungarian Royal Exchange Money) surrounds the central device, reading clockwise. The entire design is enclosed within a continuous beaded border.
