Additional information

Baden entered 1813 in an awkward political position — nominally allied with Napoleon yet acutely aware that the campaigns were turning. Charles's administration continued routine copper coinage through the upheaval, and the 1 Kreuzer issues of this period circulated heavily in a regional economy still absorbing the disruptions of Continental System trade restrictions. KM#159 is occasionally found with die-alignment variations, a known inconsistency across the Baden copper series of this decade.
