Additional information

Charles Frederick ruled Württemberg only from 1738 until his death in 1744, a reign of six years that left minimal numismatic output. The duchy was already burdened by the debts accumulated under Eberhard Ludwig, and small silver kreuzers of this weight were often the only coinage ordinary subjects ever handled. Carl Eugen, who followed, would prove far more prolific — and far more ruinous to the treasury.
