Obverse description A fleur-de-lis occupies the central field, set within a plain inner circle bordered by a beaded ring. The peripheral legend +ARGENTINA runs around the outer margin, referencing the Latin name for Strasbourg. The fleur-de-lis, the civic heraldic emblem of the city, is rendered in a bold, stylised medieval manner typical of hammered billon coinage of the late 15th to early 17th century.
