Obverse description Central design features the royal coat of arms of Tonga, comprising a quartered shield displaying a cross, three stars, a crown, and crossed swords, supported by two Tongan flags on staffs and surmounted by a royal crown within a laurel wreath. A dove and a scroll bearing the Tongan motto appear in the lower portion of the shield. The word KOULA is inscribed in the upper field and TONGA in the lower field, all within a beaded border.
