| Beschrijving voorzijde | Plain cream paper with a simple typeset design enclosed within a fine guilloche border. The centre carries the bold letterpress inscription ODBĚRNÍ POUKAZ in a decorative panel, below which the denomination KčS 1,— (JEDNA KčS) is stated in a text line together with the purpose NA NÁKUP EXPORTNÍHO ZBOŽÍ. At upper right a red serial number is printed, with fields for DATUM and ČÍSLO, and the issuer's name TUZEX / PODNIK ZAHRANIČNÍHO OBCHODU PRAHA appears at foot; printer's imprint STC is visible at the lower margin. |

Tuzex was Czechoslovakia's state-run hard-currency retail network, and these vouchers were the mechanism through which the government extracted foreign exchange from citizens who received remittances or earnings from abroad. Handing over Western currency obligated you to accept Tuzex bony in return — the official exchange was non-negotiable. The shops themselves stocked imported goods and domestic luxuries otherwise unavailable through normal retail channels, which gave the vouchers a significant black-market premium throughout the 1960s.
The serial number is the only security feature, a fairly thin deterrent given the counterfeiting incentive the system inadvertently created.
