Obverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of the Bishopric of Würzburg, with the raking pike charge (representing the Franconian rake) on the left and the episcopal banner on the right, flanking a central shield. The bishop's mint initial 'F' appears prominently in the middle of the composition. At the base of the shield, the impaled family arms of the Dernbach dynasty divide the date of issue. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border typical of hammered minor coinage of the period.
