Descrizione del dritto	Central field occupied by the quartered arms of the Bishopric of Hildesheim, displaying the characteristic divided escutcheon with a cross and diagonal banding in the lower quarters, surmounted by a episcopal mitre above the shield. Two small lions or heraldic supporters flank the upper portion of the arms. The entire armorial composition is enclosed within an inner beaded circle, with the circumferential legend MONETA NOVA HILDESE running in Gothic lettering around the periphery between the inner and outer beaded borders.

Descrizione del rovescio	Central field features a large multi-pointed wheel cross or spoked cross — the traditional emblem of the See of Hildesheim — with arms extending nearly to the inner beaded circle and dividing the field into four segments. The circumferential legend SALV - CRVX - SAN - BENI is distributed in four groups between the arms of the cross, rendered in Gothic lettering, invoking the Holy Cross and Saint Benedict. The composition is bounded by inner and outer beaded borders consistent with hammered billon coinage of the early sixteenth century.
