The Magyar Nők Korona Alapja — the Hungarian Women's Crown Fund — was a wartime charity organization established to support soldiers' families and the wounded during the First World War. This 1 Korona note functioned not as legal tender but as a fundraising instrument: donors received the notes as receipts or tokens of contribution, effectively turning the act of giving into a kind of scrip. The issuing authority, the War Relief Office under the Royal Ministry of Defence, oversaw a broad range of such auxiliary financial instruments during 1916–1919.
Seidner Műintézet was a respected Budapest commercial printing house — their involvement here was typical of wartime production when the main state printers were fully committed to official currency output.
