The United Federation of Koronis is a micronation, and its wooden coinage occupies the narrow category of non-metallic issues produced more for novelty and collector appeal than any functional monetary use. Wood as a coin substrate presents obvious long-term problems — dimensional instability with humidity, susceptibility to splitting along the grain — which makes surviving examples in undamaged condition genuinely difficult to locate.
