Obverse description Central device features the interlaced Cyrillic monogram of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna (ЕР — Елизавета Petrovna), composed of two mirrored Е characters surmounted by an Imperial crown with cross finial. The monogram is set within a wreath of laurel branches tied at the base. The date numerals appear flanking the crown at the upper field. The design is rendered in bold relief against a flat field, characteristic of mid-18th century Russian copper coinage.
