| Obverse description | A spread-winged double-headed eagle perched upon stylized clouds occupies the central field, its two heads facing outward to either side. Superimposed on the eagle's body is the crowned imperial cypher 'EP' (for Elizaveta Petrovna), intricately interlaced in Baroque fashion and surmounted by an elaborate crown. The mint mark 'СПБ' (St. Petersburg Mint) appears in Cyrillic characters at the base of the design, below the clouds. |
