| Obverse description | Full-length frontal figure of the goddess Meenakshi standing in a formal hieratic posture beneath a decorative arch, her arms extended to either side in the classical South Indian iconographic style. The goddess is depicted with a prominent circular head ornament and richly adorned torso, conveying the devotional character typical of Nayaka-period coinage. Flanking the arch are decorative scrollwork elements and pellets disposed around the inner field. The flan is irregular and the relief is bold and deeply struck despite the small module, consistent with hammered copper kasu production. |
