Obverse description Central field bears the Devanagari legend 'श्री शिव' (Shri Shiva) rendered in bold, raised script characters occupying the majority of the flan. The inscription is executed in a characteristic Maratha epigraphic style with broad strokes. The irregular flan and uneven surface are typical of hammered copper kasu coinage of the Thanjavur-Maratha rulers. No figural imagery is present; the devotional invocation to the deity Shiva serves as the sole design element.
