| 背面描述 | Reverse bearing a Tamil inscription arranged in two lines within the field, executed in a bold, archaic Tamil script. The legend reads 'தளவாய்' (Dhalawai), a title denoting the chieftain Dhalawai Sethupathi, ruler of Ramanathapuram between 1635 and 1646 AD. The lettering is deeply and crudely struck, with characteristically thick strokes typical of hammered copper issues of the Sethupathi chiefs. A raised horizontal line separates the two lines of text, and the coin's irregular flan reflects the primitive minting technology of the period. |
