| Obverse description | Central field displays a five-petalled stylised flower motif enclosed within a circular border, struck over an earlier host coin bearing a Nagari legend reading 'Maharaj'. The flower is rendered in low relief with splayed petals radiating from a central point, characteristic of Madurai Nayak copper coinage. Traces of the underlying Nagari inscription from the host coin may be visible in the periphery of the flan. The irregular flan shape is consistent with hand-hammered production typical of South Indian kasu coinage of this period. |
