| Reverse description | Four Tamil characters arranged in a two-by-two grid occupying the central field of the reverse, boldly incuse and struck in low relief against a granular background. The inscription reads 'ஸ்ரீ வீர' (Sri Vira), a royal epithet associated with the Madurai Nayaka rulers, distributed across two lines. The characters are clearly defined with rounded forms typical of early seventeenth-century Tamil script epigraphy. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven at the edges, consistent with the hammered technique employed for this series. |
