| Obverse description | Central device depicting a bird, most likely a goose or duck, shown in profile facing right in a seated or crouching posture, rendered in low relief characteristic of hammered copper coinage of the Madurai Nayaka period. The figure occupies the majority of the flan, with a plain, slightly granular field surrounding it. The striking is irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production, and the flan edges are uneven. No legend or inscription appears on this face. |
