| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the VOC monogram — the interlaced cipher of the Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie — rendered in bold raised relief. The monogram consists of a large V surmounted by a prominent O with a C intertwined, all set within a plain circular border. The device is crudely but distinctly struck, consistent with hammered copper coinage produced for local circulation in the VOC's South Indian trading territories.
