Reverse description The reverse displays a central architectural or symbolic motif in low relief, partially worn, consistent with the iconographic conventions of early Indian regional coinage. A central element, possibly a tree-in-railing or stupa-like device, is flanked by attendant symbols and rounded pellet-like forms in the field. An upper register appears to show a radiating or foliate motif above the central device. The overall design is executed in the crude but vigorous hammered style typical of Ananda dynasty lead karshapanas, with the irregular flan edges characteristic of the series.
