The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Armenian mint legend distributed around the outer margin of the coin. The legend records the place of striking as the city of Sis, the capital of the Kingdom of Armenian Cilicia. The design is typical of the late Cilician Armenian copper coinage, exhibiting the characteristic irregular flan associated with hammered production. |
