Obverse description Irregularly shaped hammered billon flan bearing a bold Nagari legend disposed across the field in multiple lines, reading 'Suritana Sri Samasa Dina', a Nagari transliteration of the sultan's title and name. The striking is characteristic of early Delhi Sultanate jitals, with deeply incised angular characters filling the available flan space without a defined border. Surface shows characteristic reddish-brown oxidation patina consistent with the billon alloy. The die work is vigorous but slightly off-centre, a common feature of hand-struck issues of this period.
