| Obverse description | Winged Garuda depicted kneeling in Namaskar mudra (devotional salutation posture), with wings spread to either side, rendered in low relief within a circular border. A solar symbol appears in the field to the front of the figure. The design is characteristic of the devotional Vaishnava iconography favored on Vijayanagara coinage, with Garuda serving as the vahana and emblem of Vishnu. The strike is irregular, typical of hammered copper issues of the period. |
