The motifs are rendered in the highly stylised, cursive manner characteristic of Chauhan dynastic coinage of the late twelfth century. A circular or ovoid symbol, possibly a bull or decorative medallion, appears in the lower left quadrant. The flan edge is ragged and uneven, typical of the hand-cut planchets used at provincial northern Indian mints of this period. |
