| Beschrijving keerzijde | Reverse of this hammered billon jital displaying a Nagari inscription in the field, reading in debased characters the royal legend 'Srimad Asala Deva', the regnal invocation of the issuing ruler. The inscription is arranged in multiple lines within the central field, surrounded by a border of irregular form consistent with the crude striking technique employed. The relief is low and the legends show the characteristic degeneration of script found on late Chauhan jitals, with individual aksharas rendered in simplified, stylised form. The flan is rough and irregular, with surface patination consistent with billon alloy. This type conforms to the Tye 58 classification for Jajapella issues of Narwar. |
