Obverse description Three-line inscription in uncial Latin letters occupying the central field, reading the place name of the issuing authority across horizontal registers. The lettering is rendered in a characteristic medieval hammered style, with irregular spacing reflecting the artisanal die-cutting of the period. The flan is noticeably irregular in outline, typical of small billon coinage of the late thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries in northern Italy.
