The three Correggio brothers — Azzo, Guy, and Simon — seized joint control of Parma in 1341 after expelling the Rossi family, holding it for only three years before Luchino Visconti of Milan drove them out in 1344. This coin belongs entirely to that narrow window of shared authority, making it one of the few medieval Italian issues explicitly tied to a collegiate lordship of siblings rather than a single signore.
