| Obverse description | Within a double beaded border, a long cross divides the legend field. At the centre, a shield bearing the Norwegian lion passant-guardant holding an axe, facing left. The inscription is placed in the annular field between the inner beaded ring and the outer beaded border, rendered in Gothic uncial lettering. The overall composition is characteristic of late medieval Scandinavian ecclesiastical coinage. |
