| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field dominated by a large crowned royal cypher comprising the letter F (for Fredericus) surmounted by an open crown rendered in relief, flanked by the regnal numeral II on either side. The design is characteristically spare and bold, typical of late sixteenth-century Scandinavian hammered minor coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, partially legible due to the irregular flan and weak strike inherent to this issue. The overall style reflects the crude but purposeful workmanship of the Bergen Mint during the reign of Frederik II. |

Bergen's mint operated only briefly under Frederik II, active from 1575 until its closure in 1578 — one of several provincial mints the Danish crown periodically licensed and then suppressed as centralized control over coinage tightened. The hvid denomination itself was an old Nordic unit, by this point so debased from its medieval silver standard that surviving examples at full weight are unusual. Brekke's numbering of three distinct varieties across this four-year window reflects genuine die changes rather than mere collector splitting.
