| Obverse description | Central field displays a small cross set upon an oval cartouche, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross is boldly rendered in the hammered style characteristic of early seventeenth-century Danish coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the beaded border, reading the king's name and royal title. The overall composition is compact and typical of low-denomination billon issues of Christian IV's early reign. |
