| Obverse lettering | CHRISTIANVS IIII • D: G • DAN • (Translation: Christian IV (King of) Denmark by the Grace of God) |
| Reverse description | Central device features a large crowned royal cipher 'C' for Christianvs, with the four-digit date 1602 incorporated within the curve of the letter. The crown above the cipher is rendered in elaborate detail with prominent arches and decorative elements, typical of Danish royal heraldic style. A beaded circle separates the central device from the surrounding Latin legend, which continues the king's royal titulature. A shamrock or trefoil mintmark appears in the legend, identifying the Copenhagen mint. The hammered flan gives the coin its characteristic irregular outline. |
