| Obverse description | Central field features the municipal shield of Visby, displaying two horizontal bands (fesses), set within a plain border. The shield is rendered in a simple Gothic heraldic style characteristic of late medieval Scandinavian coinage. A circular legend in uncial lettering surrounds the shield, reading WISBVE · ENCIS ·, denoting 'of Visby.' The overall composition is compact and typical of the small hammered silver issues produced for Gotland under Danish authority. |
