| Obverse description | Central shield bearing a horizontal band dividing the field into two sections, rendered in a plain heraldic style. The shield is depicted without additional ornament and occupies the central field of the coin. A circular legend in uncial script surrounds the shield, reading HONETA · WIS · BEENSIS, denoting the coinage of Visby. The lettering is evenly spaced within a beaded border. The overall design is characteristic of late medieval Scandinavian hammered coinage. |
