Beschrijving voorzijde Two heraldic shields displayed side by side: the shield of the Teutonic Order Grand Masters to the left and the Kronberg family arms to the right. The initial 'W', denoting Grand Master Walter von Cronberg, appears in the lower field between the shields. The date is inscribed above, reading '.1535.' The overall design is characteristic of small hammered coinage of the early sixteenth century, with minimal decorative treatment befitting the coin's low denomination.

Aanvullende informatie

Walter von Cronberg was elected Grand Master in 1527 following the apostasy of Albert of Brandenburg-Ansbach, who had converted to Lutheranism and secularized the Order's Prussian territories the previous year. The Heller issues under Walter represent some of the last coinage produced by the Order before its German administrative structures were increasingly absorbed into Habsburg governance — Walter himself held the position of Administrator of the Holy Roman Empire's Teutonic bailiwick rather than ruling a coherent territorial state.

Prokisch 15a distinguishes this variety within a short two-year window of production.
