Obverse description A stylized dog head facing right occupies the central field, flanked by the divided date with '16' to the left and '79' to the right. The design is rendered in the crude hammered style typical of small German pfennig-series coinage of the late 17th century. The dog head, emblematic of the Reuss comital arms, serves as the primary heraldic device. The fields are irregular, consistent with hand-struck copper coinage of the period.
