| Obverse description | Central field bears the crowned Saxon coat of arms, displaying the distinctive barry with a diagonal crancelin, all surmounted by a ducal crown. The initial letters 'S.' and 'H.' (for Sachsen-Hildburghausen) flank the shield to the left and right respectively, serving as the sole legend. The design is rendered in a compact, unadorned style typical of minor German state coinage of the early nineteenth century. A fine milled border encircles the entire design. |
