| Aanvullende informatie |
Henneberg-Ilmenau was among the smallest and most financially precarious of the Saxon partition territories, and its copper heller issues of the early eighteenth century were essentially emergency small change — the county lacked the silver resources to maintain a full denominational range. Bernard von Sachsen-Meiningen held joint rule over the Ilmenau district under the complex inheritance agreements that had divided the Henneberg lands among competing Ernestine lines since the late sixteenth century. The KM# 10.1 designation distinguishes this from closely related contemporary issues struck under overlapping administrations with nearly identical types.
