Obverse description Central device depicting the Afghan royal arms: a stylized mosque or mausoleum with a prominent dome and two minarets, flanked by two standing figures bearing flags or standards, all set within a rayed circular border. The central device is encircled by a wreath of laurel or olive branches tied at the base, with the wreath in turn enclosed by a beaded outer border.
