Obverse description Central field features the royal titulature of King Abd al-Aziz ibn Abd al-Rahman Al Saud inscribed in Arabic Naskh script within a dotted inner circle. The outer annular legend carries the royal title and name of the Kingdom in Arabic, encircling the central cartouche. Two crossed palm trees with a sword appear in the lower field, flanking a decorative ornament, all rendered in low relief typical of Saudi gold coinage of the period. Notation varieties exist: some specimens bear 'R22' or '22' on the reverse, while others carry no additional notation.
