| Reverse description | Two haloed bishops standing facing one another in full pontifical vestments, each wearing a mitre and holding a crozier, jointly supporting between them a detailed model of a Romanesque church building above a shield bearing the arms of Salzburg. The figures are identified by the surrounding circular Latin legend as the patron saints of Salzburg, Saint Rudbertus and Saint Virgilius, both depicted as bishops. The composition is finely engraved with strong Gothic stylistic influence and enclosed within a beaded border. |
