| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central floriated cross within a beaded inner circle, with four small heraldic shields of arms placed in the angles of the cross, each bearing the arms of the margraves. A circular Latin legend runs along the outer border, incorporating the date 1525 at the conclusion of the inscription. The overall design is characteristic of early sixteenth-century German Renaissance hammered coinage, with bold Gothic-influenced lettering. |

Brandenburg-Franconia's 1525 Guldiner was struck under the joint authority of Margrave Casimir and his brother George, a co-regency arrangement that would end acrimoniously — Casimir died in 1527 during the Ottoman campaign in Hungary, leaving George to consolidate sole rule over the margraviate. The joint-reign issues were produced in relatively small quantities across their overlapping authority, making dual-named pieces a compressed snapshot of a fractious sibling governance.
Davenport's attribution places this among the earliest large silver talers of the Franconian branch, struck the same year the Peasants' War swept through the very territories these margraves controlled.
