正面描述 Central field features a crowned, quartered coat of arms combining the heraldic devices of the abbeys of Murbach and Lüders, supported on either side by rampant stags serving as shield-holders. A princely crown surmounts the escutcheon. The circular legend in Latin reads the title of Abbot John Rudolph Stör of Störenberg, rendered in Gothic-influenced lettering around the full perimeter of the coin.

附加信息

Murbach was among the oldest Benedictine foundations in the Holy Roman Empire, established in the Alsatian Vosges in the early eighth century, and its abbots held the rank of imperial princes with the right to strike coin. John Rudolph Stör of Störenberg governed the combined abbeys of Murbach and Lüders — the two had been administered jointly since the mid-fifteenth century — during a period when Alsatian ecclesiastical mints were producing thalers in direct competition with secular princes hungry for the same silver trade.

The Davenport SG#76 attribution places this among the broader category of South German ecclesiastical guldenthalers, a designation reflecting its weight standard rather than a strict monetary union.
