1 Guldenthaler - George von Kuenburg

George von Kuenburg served as Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg from 1586 until his death later that same year — one of the shortest episcopates in the see's history. This guldenthaler was almost certainly struck in anticipation of a longer reign; the Salzburg mint routinely produced such pieces early in a new archbishop's tenure to assert temporal authority and circulate his likeness among the Alpine trade routes the city controlled.

Davenport 125 is not a rare attribution, but examples struck under Kuenburg specifically are scarce by virtue of that abbreviated incumbency.
