Obverse description Half-length facing figure of St. Peter, nimbed and bearded, depicted in episcopal vestments and holding a large key in his right hand, with a crozier or papal cross staff to his left. A small escutcheon bearing the arms of Archbishop John III of Rode is placed in the lower field beneath the figure. The composition is rendered in the Late Gothic style characteristic of early sixteenth-century German coinage. A circular Latin legend runs along the outer border, separated from the central device by a beaded inner ring.
