Obverse description Gray-blue intaglio-printed note with a fine guilloche border frame. At left, an engraved vignette of a helmeted allegorical female figure in three-quarter portrait, wearing a jewelled crown and armour. The denomination '1.-' appears twice in bold type flanking the central text block, with the series letter and serial numbers in blue above. Two manuscript signatures appear at the lower margin, attributed to the Administrator of Finance at left and the Governor of Suriname at right.
Obverse lettering SURINAME ZILVERBON GROOT EEN GULDEN WORDT TER BETALING AANGENOMEN DOOR DE SURINAAMSCHE BANK EN AAN ALLE LANDSKASSEN. INWISSELBAAR IN ZILVER NA AANKONDIGING. GEREGISTREERD: PARAMARIBO, 30 APRIL 1942. AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY. DE ADMINISTRATEUR VAN FINANCIEN. DE GOUVERNEUR VAN SURINAME.

Reverse description Gray-toned note with the country name 'SURINAME' at top and 'WETTIG BETAALMIDDEL' at the base. The central design consists of an elaborate symmetrical guilloche medallion of fine lathe-work, rendered in dark blue-gray, with floral and foliate rosette patterns radiating from a central star. The denomination 'EEN GULDEN' is printed vertically in bold letters along both left and right margins. A two-column cautionary anti-counterfeiting text appears below the central vignette.
