Reverse description A full-rigged VOC-era sailing ship, depicted underway on stylized ocean waves and flying a flag at the foremast, rendered in fine relief and occupying the majority of the central field. The date 1802 appears in a cartouche at the base of the design, framed by decorative scroll ornaments. A circular Latin legend reading INDIÆ BATAVORUM surrounds the ship, separated from the reeded border by a beaded inner ring, affirming the coin's association with the Batavian colonial Indies.
