Reverse description A crowned, ornate heraldic shield bearing a composite coat of arms occupies the central field, flanked by the divided date '16 76' and the mintmaster's initials 'I A' placed to either side. The shield is elaborately decorated in the Baroque style typical of late 17th-century German coinage. A Latin legend encircles the entire design, identifying this as a new silver coinage. The reverse design dates to the original 1676 striking, prior to the application of the Salzburg countermark.
