Reverse description Central field displays the denomination and date in three lines — 1 / GULDEN / 1864 — set within an elaborately rendered wreath of oak branches bearing acorns and leaves, tied at the base with a flowing ribbon bow. The wreath is deeply struck in high relief, with individual leaves and acorns finely detailed, meeting symmetrically at the top of the design. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded border. The stark simplicity of the lettering contrasts effectively with the ornate naturalism of the surrounding wreath, consistent with the refined aesthetic of Bavarian pattern coinage of the period.
