Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands in right-facing profile, rendered with fine detail in the hair and facial features, occupying the central field. Reverse description The central field displays the coat of arms of Suriname, featuring a quartered oval shield supported by two standing indigenous figures, one on each side, with the motto JUSTITIA PIETAS FIDES inscribed on a ribbon below the shield. The date 1962 appears above the arms, and the denomination numeral 1 and initial G flank the shield to the left and right respectively. The entire central device is encircled by a wreath of laurel or tropical foliage, with the inscription SURINAME arching along the lower periphery.
