| Obverse description | Full-length figure of Saint John the Baptist standing facing, holding the Lamb of God cradled on his left arm; the arms of Brederode appear beneath his right side, and a boar's head is placed between his feet. The saint is rendered in the Gothic style typical of mid-16th-century Low Countries hammered coinage. The figure occupies the central field with heraldic and iconographic elements framing the composition. The surrounding legend is rendered in uncial Latin characters. |
